Fitness/Health: I'm feeling pretty low energy today...meal making feels like an insurmountable chore. "You play you pay" comes to mind, however, "playing" yesterday included meeting with a mentor and group and realizing HUGE revelations. Still drained me a bit.

Study: No study today.

Plan: No planning today, other than just planning to get through the day. I'm resting so I can keep HEALING.

Action: Rest. Stay positive. Keep processing yesterday's revelations. There were many.

This doesn't feel like a rousing first post for 2009's January forum, but hey...it's where I am today. And I know I am on the right track.

** DERR! Just realize that I have had a perspective change. I *am* in the middle of executing a plan and should be charting my progress here. But...because I am a "c" personality type and haven't "formally" written the goal down somewhere to make it "formal" I am not "counting" it! (I am sure that is why formally writing down goals is such a good idea!

I am on day 4 without any thyroid meds. I am shooting for 10 as part of a treatment plan underway. So there...I'm charting my progress here.

I have to remember that my goals are "valid" even if all I have right now are goals for today, tomorrow, and the day after that. :) EUREKA! My mind will be renewed yet.

Study: I think I forgot how to do that...glad the break is over so I can get back to the real world :)

Plan:........

Action: Spent time with my brother and sister-in-law before they go back to Grand Cayman tomorrow.

Though I haven't posted nearly as much, I have been on it!

FITNESS: I have been working it at Lake Parker Park with a new "fitness inductee." I am working on getting her sold on fitness, then on goals, and eventually on SUCCESSFIT!!

PLAN: Last week I hit my goal: to work with Chad on putting together our Goal Setting system for YOU GUYS!! Last night we really laid out some good ground work, and we hope to have something to show you all very soon.

STUDY: I have been reading quite a lot these last few days. A Minute of Margin is a really nice daily reader. Thank you, Elizabeth. Also, for leisure reading, The Talisman as been quite inspiring. Especially to the knight within.

ACTION: Honestly, these last few weeks of '08 have been quite draining. I have half a mind to boycott commercial Christmas altogether this year. I am just now getting into the groove, but my goals for last week were accomplished, all save for one.

If success is begun with goals, the battle is won on setting and achieving little victories throughout the week. Last week was one of those weeks. I was able to push forward small victories, which place in me a confidence for even bigger victories. MORE than those bigger victories, it instills in me a resolve to continue with the small victories!!

If "little foxes spoil the vine," then little victories guarantee it success. All great goals are simply the accumulation of many tiny accomplishments. It is our aim to help you all walk through that process. We would desire that you were totally empowered for the major victories in life by providing you the platform to accomplish daily, minor victories, with the focus of a campaigning Crusader.

Here is to a POWERFUL week.
Return to your major, definite purpose.
Then zoom down and read and ponder your dream list, as well as your Top 100 Goals (or however many of them you have completed.)
Then, take half an hour tonight before bed and visualize the week. Play it out in your mind. See yourself working around the demands in your life (work, family, etc.) and stealing away to knock out several key actions. (Post those actions here!) Play it out in your mind the character you wish to carry yourself with. Imagine those typical obstructions to success, and visualize how the ideal "you" faces them down. Also, imagine yourself reading your goals 1st thing in the morning and last thing at night. Imagine yourself doing the same for each day of the week.

Doing this will cause your mind to remember these things as you face your week, and will significantly help you to focus, and, thus, accomplish the mighty, little things you need to!

Grant...I can't wait to see the goal setting system. I need help in this area, especially right now. Any assistance and structure is oh so welcome. I have lots of ideas about goals but can't ever commit to a system myself (too much of a perfectionist).

Fitness/Health: Rest, drink 4 carrot juices, drink 3 green smoothies, eat 2 salads. Day 4 without thyroid meds. I am going to shoot for 10 (high end of range) rather than 5 days (low end of range) before starting my treatment plan. I didn't think I would make it 5, so this is encouraging.

Study: Read more of the Dr's manual on the Wilson's Temperature Syndrome.

Plan: Write out my medical plan based on my appointment last Tuesday (never did this last week as planned), chill in the hammock and read, hang out with hubby.

Action: See all above. :)

Progress! I am so happy to find that while my energy cycles a LOT throughout the day, I feel (and Brien agrees) that my "highs" are "higher." I just have to pace myself so don't "crash" hard. I think it is encouraging!

Accountability! I made it to bed by 10:30 a few nights last week, but not nearly enough. So...setting the goal again for this week! In bed by 10:30, while maintaining my good eating habits.

STay on it like a samurai, like a crusader! it is just doing the one little thing you should, after the one little thing you should, one at a time, that overcomes all things.

Push hard, girl!

Those Air Squats will get you!! But nothing will trim you down like them, either. Keep it up.

Also, there is a recipe exchange on the site under Forums, then scroll down until you see Recipe Exchange!

"Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do." - Jonathan Wolfgang von Goethe

FITNESS: Rest day! Hanging out at the Dropzone in Sebastian with good friends.

STUDY: Listened to the rest of John on my iPod while driving back from the East Coast. Will read some "Finding Our Way Again" before going to sleep.

PLAN: Still working diligently on setting myself up for success in this new year. Generating my Top 100 Goals, setting mile-marker goals for along the way, coming up with monthly "big picture" goals, writing down other ideas for things I want to do, places I want to go, and people I want to see this year. Strategizing as to how to make this new "intentionality" and "consciousness" I'm uncovering in my life last over the LONG HAUL. Setting up support systems to keep me on track through these next months - friends, family, personal motivators. Starting a "Daniel Fast" for this week in order to clean out my body, start fresh, and renew my mind for the journey I'm beginning.

ACTION: See above. Also - did some cooking for this week, cutting up vegetables, and other prep to make healthy eating easier as life goes back into turbo gear this week. Also setting up a wall in my bedroom to serve as my monument for "all things inspirational" - quotes, pictures, goals, Bible verses, dreams, calendars.....all these things are going up in my room so it can be in front of my face every day, and serve as a constant reminder of what I'm becoming.

I'm really excited about this new year guys. I've always had goals and dreams for my life, but I've NEVER been this intentional about it, or had this level of accountability to keep me moving forward. Not only am I excited - I'm TERRIFIED. This is big. Something in me is stirring, something deep and life-altering. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's a rumbling in the distance of my soul. I have a sense of anticipation and expectancy inside of me that I have not felt in a very long time. I feel CONSCIOUS. I feel ALIVE. And this is only the beginning...

"So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith." - Galatians 6:9

The word of the month for me is CONSISTENCY. This is the month for me to establish consistent habits, particularly when it comes to diet. Exercising is not a problem, I can do that and I do well at that. Diet is the difficult part for me. So this month I am learning to be consistent in eating whole foods, and eating to give LIFE to my body. I will also be continually consistent in my fitness habits, and continue in developing consistent personal study habits.

...ONWARD!!! :)
