Profile Information

Tell us about yourself generally... What do you do? Where did you come from? Etc.
My name is Chad Lindsey and I was born in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, and grew up in Shalimar, Fl. Grew up as a beach bum and enjoyed sports from a very young age. Moved to Lakeland, FL. to go to Florida Southern College. After graduating I spent the last 5 years trying to learn more about what life is about. I didn't take the normal career route, but tried to investigate why I might do anything for the next 30 years. A year after college I had grown to about 40 pounds over weight and was pushing the scales at 215. That is when I began working out and learning about health and fitness. It was a transformational time for me physically as well as spiritually, mentally and emotionally. I would say that succeeding in my fitness was the first goal that I ever set and accomplished under my own strength. Everything else I did up to that point I felt was just an accumulation of different pressures and routines. I had to finish school because of external social pressures, not because I had a real goal or passion for it. The success in achieving a fit lifestyle drove me to pursue setting other goals and pushing life forward harder and faster. After 5 years of Goal setting and studying I am now at the place where I run my own company and and able to work about 20 hours a week while I pursue my passions in life with my free time, and I accomplished that before the age of 28.

As you learn more about me and my life, you will understand why I think fitness and health should be such a priority in our lives. Not only does it make for a longer and energetic life, it has the potential to breed and foster success principles and have them flourish in every area of your life. At least that was my experience. Thus the spawn for the idea behind Successfit. Using fitness as a practice grounds for teaching life principles and developing our skillsets so that we can take those positive elements to the rest of the areas in our lives.

General Life Passion: To help people find themselves and to assist them in reaching their full life potential.
What are a few of your Life Goals (Ex. fitness, career, educational, etc.)?
Fitness: I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle with good eating daily activity, and to shape my physique down to under 10% body fat. The goal for me is that at anytime I can pick up and play most any sport and not get winded, tired or injured from it. If I decided I wanted to go snow skiing today, that I wouldn't need anything more than to find some snow and some skis.

Financial: I want to get my business to a place that it serves its clients at a preeminent level while also allowing me a maximum of time freedom with a high level of income to support a moderate lifestyle along with a lot of traveling.

Educational: I desire to be a Renaissance man in this area. to be well educated on many topics, such as Health, Fitness, Business, Management, Spiritual, Economics, Art, Music, Language and History. Part of my goals in 09' is to experience different cultures and people of different beliefs. I want to immerse myself in different philosophies in hopes to better understand the world and the people on this earth.
Do you have a desired Health, Fitness, of Physique Goal? If so Please specify...
Below 10% body fat by January, and not missing a day of crossfit until January! I want to reward myself with Kiteboarding trip to Cayman Islands
Are you currently using a specific program, routine or system that you are following to work on your Fitness Goals? (Ex. Body for Life, Crossfit, Jenny Craig, P90x, etc.)
Crossfit with some additional cardio and heavy load lifting.
Have you done your Top 100 Goals?
Yes

Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families

I wanted to test the Blogging ability to this site and see how it came out. I am actually finishing off the first 75 pages of Seven habits for Families today, because my family and I have decided that mission and vision is important as a family unit.

Steven Covey has taken his 7 habits and explained how they have implications on a family unit. Basically if everyone in the family isn't on the same page on the principles taught it is hard to really strive for a better family environment. the fami… Continue

Chad,

You asked what brought me here, GREAT QUESTION!

I found an interesting Blog on Ning.com after I was referred by a friend that is a co-author of one of my books, to a social networking blog platform about Future Technologies in Education. My interest was piqued by the little link in the corner of that blog, which said create your own Blog Network, which is something we are designing for our Online Think Tank. Then, I wanted to see what other people were doing so I visited the 10 most popular Ning Social Blog Networks, then I noticed that you could view them all in a search, so I started playing around with the numbers on the URL and ended up at 4,000. Then I realized I did not have time to view them all, but so far I have went through the first 1100 of them.

Each day I have gone through 100-200 of them, scanning the titles. The ones that catch my eye, I book mark and go to later, to see them and see what they are doing and learn things. In 20-40-days, spending a 2-3 hours per night, I will have gone through them all. I have only joined the ones that were of interest to me. The title of this blog network is what caught my eye; "how refreshing" I thought.
You see much of my philanthropy work; www.LanceWinslow.org has been with helping youth sports programs, doing Car Wash Fundraisers; http://www.carwashguys.com/fundraisers/LAschools.html , because this type of fundraiser builds team work, hard work ethic, earning your own money, customer service, and leadership in a friendly atmosphere. I support Youth Sports because it prepares young people for life, challenges ahead and teaches them to set and achieve goals. All of which are absolute necessities for success in life. Once that becomes a habit, it's pretty hard to stop success.
So, when I saw the title of the network, I thought yes! Because it has always been my contention that staying in shape, sports training and fitness goals transfer into all aspects of your life. Folks that are in shape are happier, healthier and are just plain more alive.
Since this is part of my belief system - I thought, why not give it a try? I, of course have 100s and 100s of articles on inspiration, motivation, goal setting, winning, success, sports training and positive attitude, more important than the verbiage is the attitude and belief system I have with regards to fitness, health and winning in life.
