Hey everyone! I'm starting this Blog Post to hopefully help out our community find great healthy alternatives to restaurants locally and abroad.
My first post has to do with a restaurant here in Lakeland, Fl. It's called "Grass Root". It's a organic, vegan, raw foods living cafe here in Lakeland. They also have a location in Tampa for those of us who spend most of our lives in the big city. I heard about it last night at Yoga class.

It was equally a treat to run into you at CrossFit. I understood that after I left, you and few others ran through that difficult workout. I must say I am in the company of some great examples of young adults who are extremely healthy.
There is a wonderful health food restaurant in Tampa at the market near the big Target on North Dale Mabry, at the first light when you exit the freeway. Turn right from exit to North Dale Mabry, move to the left lane immediately to prepare for the traffic light and another left turn into the large parking facility which houses this market. I don't believe it is so health food centered, but there are choices one can make. There is also a fine health food store on the way to Clearwater which has a terrific restaurant that serves the same. I will let you know because my brother Charles took me there some time ago, and he knows the directions.
I do have an idea in the meantime: we can meet here at our place and everyone is prepare a selection like we did for the Iron Chef event except it will be health food focused. We would be able to entitle the event the Alfafa and Mung Seed Meet! I am hopeful that when our home is finished that we can host some fun events for this healthy group. You and the others are so kind to include Bob and me in your circle. Call me Mama Lindsey anytime. Incidentally, I have some great photos of the previous cooking event. I will print a set for you and Chad.

It was fun seeing you at GrassRoots enjoying some interesting dish of organic food.
I am reducing my mass--so far 11 lbs. down and certainly toning up. There are tremendous benefits to CrossFit for me, and Chad continues to drag me through the final moments of any one exercise session. I will post some progress shortly.
I do hope you are enjoying your new work in Tampa. What a fun place to be during these times of economic down turn. It will change, and if you are like me, when I was young, I never realized the impact of any economic down turn (probably because I was not aware of a lot of things at that age).
I will enjoy following your blog to the next dish of seaweed and oyster shells. Let us hear from you often.
In friendship,
Carolyn
